The police can detain the passport for 48 hours or until they pay a fine or a court order. If the alien commits a traffic offense for which he may be detained, he / she is registered with the MA, the period of time after which he can not drive a motor vehicle in Croatia. Drivers who had a positive blood alcohol test are detained by the MA. If the driver continues driving, the vehicle may be seized.
